Grant Aid accesses five separate databases covering UK business, commercial and community grants and the specific application of EU grants in the UK; grant databases covering specifically all EU grants to EU countries and a European-wide business grant database covering country specific domestic commercial grants.
In addition we subscribe to numerous directories and online information systems.
It is therefore possible for us to identify exactly which grants meet your requirements in the UK and, furthermore, we can identify grants throughout the European Union including the Accession States where EU grants are particularly abundant. |

Grant application

Contrary to general belief, in the majority of cases the use of a consultant to make grant applications is really superfluous. Probably 80% of grants may be applied for comparatively quickly and easily and require no special knowledge on behalf of the applicant. However, there are some clear-cut exceptions and these tend to fall under the heading of large grants for capital purposes and research and development based grants.

This is so that the project may be evaluated in the context of the overall business and the viability of the business itself verified.

Grant administration

In many cases post grant award administration is straightforward.
However, in particular for those complex grants mentioned above the reporting procedures are strict and may be onerous for those not used to the various systems employed.

Matched funding
|
A requirement for all grants is that the applicant must show that they have “matched funding”.
Thus grants may cover anything between 10% to 75% of a project’s eligible costs, but it is a condition of application that the applicant show that they have available the balance of funding required.
There are a variety of sources for this matched funding: cashflow, retained profits, further equity, directors’ loans, bank loans and other commercial funds e.g. asset backed lending.
